Vastu tips for prosperity
Vastu Shastra, the ancient Hindu system of architecture, has been used in India for centuries. Vastu is a science that deals with the construction and architecture. It works by balancing five elements of environment – Water, Fire, Earth, Air, and Space. While the system doesn’t have rigid rules for construction or design, it outlines the best possible layouts and solutions for bringing maximum success, good health, wealth and prosperity to the owner of the building.
It is necessary to understand and adapt these ground rules and then apply. The following are some general guidelines to design and construct an ideal place, which will lead to prosperity, protection and peaceful environment.
1. The entrance door of the house should be larger than the other doors entering the house. It is best that a house has two entrances. Ensure that the main entrance door doesn’t open into an interior wall that blocks the flow of energy.
2. The kitchen should not be in a straight line of the main door. It should be situated in the South-East corner of the home and as a substitute in certain cases, may be in the North-West corner, but in both cases, the cooking platform should be set to facilitate cooking while facing East only.
Pre-construction
As per the Indian Vastu Sastra, it is recommended that one should perform a Bhumi Pooja (worshipping the earth) before beginning any major or minor construction. This is considered a favorable beginning and heralds a good start to the proceedings. It believes that it brings health and wealth in the life of individual follower.
House entrance
The entrance door of the house should be larger than the other doors entering the house. It is best that a house has two entrances. Ensure that the main entrance door doesn’t open into an interior wall that blocks the flow of energy, as it’s not good for the health of family.
Kitchen location
The kitchen should not be in a straight line of the main door. The South-East corner of the house is an ideal one for the kitchen’s location and cooking supposedly should be done while facing the East. However, please bear in mind that the kitchen should not be located directly in front of the main door of the house.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom should be in the South-West corner, while other bedrooms can be in the Central-South and Central-West directions. From our perspective, if you follow this Vastu, you will ensure that you can sleep soundly without having to let the aroma or the noise accompanying the cooking to wake you up and suffer you the loss of wealth. Square and rectangular shaped bedrooms are recommended, so that you can leave the avant-garde construction to the other sections of the house.
Toilet location
Toilets and wash rooms are associated with bad energy. The northeast and southwest are the preferred directions where they can be planned. Toilets are to be located in the North-West corner of the building or the North-West corner of the rooms. If this is not possible, South East toilets are allowed. It is also recommended (and sensible, in our opinion, we might add), that the toilets, kitchen and Pooja room in the house should not be adjacent to each other.
There are several other terms and conditions that one must concern to get the perfect Vaastu Sastra in the house.
